EVENTS FOR JANUARY 2016

Every year I get to put on these quirky events I thank my lucky stars. But most of all I thank all the lovely people I've had the extraordinary honour and pleasure to meet at all the events.

When I started doing these events, I basically wanted to create the kinds of events that I would personally want to go to myself. Events that took into account my very particular predilictions.

I have a hard time going out in the world. And I have a hard time with events where everyone arrives and just watches something, without the opportunity to participate in them.

It's very hard to feel like a participant in the world. Things happen and you feel like you can't do anything to change them. And sometimes the world is so massive, and so much of what trickles down to us is in the news, and in places far off. Sometimes the only life we can affect is our own life. And the lives of those immediately around us. And I have to believe that that's enough, most days. Sometimes that's all I have energy for.

But I want to thank each and every person who has come to any of my events this year and in the years past. You changed my life profoundly. And I hope these weird and quirky events have managed, in some small way, to change your life. Happy 2015, and 2016 and onwards. Thank you for everything you've done for me.

Black heart (cards)Black heart (cards)Black heart (cards) You are cordially invited to Toronto's QUEER SLOWDANCE! - Winter Warmth 2016 Edition! Black heart (cards)Black heart (cards)Black heart (cards)

With a lending library of designated dancers for all you wallflowers, and a dancecard-booklet to set up dances in advance (should you choose to), Toronto Queer Slowdance has all slow songs, all night long! (Except for the occasional intermission when we play the fastest songs we can find!)

It's high school with a happy ending. Come and experience why slow is beautiful, and why love is not ironic.

Fabulous and inspired attire, while desired, is not required. But it would be AWESOME and HAWT. As this is our Winter Wamth edition, if it pleases you, wear something RED!

Finally, you do not have to be queer to attend thi
s party, but you must have an open mind, an open heart, and have open arms. Do keep in mind that many of our attendees fall within the LGBTTIQ continuum and may or may not be interested in dancing with the 'opposite' sex, so if you are stridently & adamantly straight, this may not be the most receptive community for you.

We are always looking for designated dancers for our evenings. If you are outgoing, warm, and willing to undertake the very serious duty and responsibility of inviting wallflowers out onto the dancefloor - if in fact, such a prospect gives you great joy - then please contact the organizers at inconsolablecat@hotmail.com.

Save the Date! Events and dates are subject to change, but realistically, in all likelihood, won't.

Friday, Feb 5, 2016: MONTREAL SLOWDANCE @ the MAINLINE THREATRE

Saturday, Feb 13, 2016: TORONTO QUEER VALENTINES SLOWDANCE @ the DOVERCOURT HOUSE

Thank you SO MUCH for coming out and supporting quirky events this past year! We can only continue to put on these intimate and odd experimental events because you come out and you tell your friends what wacky thing you did over the weekend and they were intrigued enough to come to the next one. So thank you.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT:

CHAT PERDU PRODUCTIONS creates stimulating, quirky, and all-natural events in Montreal & Toronto. We like to put on events that are participatory and lovely. Rather than ironic cool, we are after cat-belly warm. We like it when the people who "attend" are also the people who "perform". We see events as little experiments. We don't know what will happen & we do them to find out. The ultimate goal of everything is for folks to forge new friendships & to make life a little less lonely & manifestly more lovely. LESS LONELY! MORE LOVELY! Take a chance on a Chat Perdu event!
